Elon Musk’s X, formerly known as Twitter, added a setting allowing the network to use users’ information to train its Grok AI.
The new setting is “on” by default for most users, enabling the network to gather information from posts and other site interactions.
The setting states: “To continuously improve your experience, we may utilize your X posts as well as your user interactions, inputs and results with Grok for training and fine-tuning purposes.”
User interactions, inputs, and results may also be shared with the service provider xAI for training and fine-tuning purposes.
The change was made with little fanfare and likely went unnoticed by many users.
Musk announced the start of Grok’s training this week on X, promising “the world’s most powerful AI by every metric by December this year.”
