Israel establishes national expert forum to guide AI policy and regulation

The Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology has announced a public call for the establishment of a national expert forum on artificial intelligence.

This forum will comprise specialists from academia, industry, and prominent civil society organizations.

The forum is expected to contribute to the development of a government strategy and policy aimed at fostering the safe use of AI, promoting innovation, and maximizing the technology’s social and economic benefits.

Furthermore, the ministry noted that the forum will focus on creating innovation-friendly regulations while addressing the technological and regulatory challenges linked to AI.

It will also tackle the risks and challenges faced by regulators and government ministries in both routine and emergency scenarios.
