In preparation for the 3rd UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (AI), set to take place from 24 to 27 June 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and the Ministry of Education, will officially announce their co-hosting of the Forum and its theme, “Ethical Governance of AI in Motion,” on 4 December 2024 in Bangkok.
Deputy Prime Minister Prasert Jantararuangtong will deliver keynote remarks at the launch event, emphasizing Thailand’s leadership in this space and reaffirming the country’s commitment to UNESCO’s Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence—the first first-ever global standard for ethical AI, released in 2021.

The launch event will feature an afternoon of expert-led panel discussions on topics including:
Thailand’s Journey in Driving AI Ethics & Governance: Experts from NECTEC, ETDA, and the Digital Council of Thailand discuss initiatives establishing Thailand as a leader in ethical AI governance
Future Directions for Thailand’s AI Readiness: NSTDA will present plans for integrating UNESCO’s Recommendations to strengthen national and international AI collabor
