The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology will deliberate on topics ranging from artificial intelligence and related issues to regulation of social media platforms, fake news and more for 2024-25.
This comes at a time when there has been a growing scanner on the impact of AI and social media platforms on society, and the government deliberates on bringing in regulations for AI and other such technologies.
The committee chaired by BJP’s Nishikant Dubey is comprised of 31 members, and it recently saw the appointment of actor-cum-politician Kanagana Ranaut into the committee
