Nezar Patria, Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Technology, announced the ministry’s plans to issue a ministerial regulation on artificial intelligence (AI).
The regulation will provide clear guidelines for AI technology use in Indonesia.
“We are working on a ministerial regulation, or possibly a broader framework, on AI,” Nezar stated during a press briefing at the Peninsula Hotel, West Jakarta.
Currently, only a temporary circular with general AI guidelines has been issued by the ministry.
Nezar expressed optimism that the upcoming regulation will provide more detailed and specific guidance.
The proposed regulation is still under review, with the process involving in-depth examination and discussions with experts and stakeholders.
