The world’s leading internet firms are engaging extensively with EU regulators to ensure compliance with strict data protection rules for their AI products, according to Ireland’s data regulator.
Ireland’s Data Protection Commission (DPC) is the lead EU regulator for companies like Alphabet (Google), Meta, Microsoft, TikTok, and OpenAI.
The DPC stated that its broad powers have not yet been tested on AI.
In the future, the DPC may force changes to business models to ensure data privacy is protected.
