James Patrick Moran Jr. (born May 16, 1945) is an American politician who served as the mayor of Alexandria, Virginia, from 1985 to 1990, and as the U.S. representative for Virginia’s 8th congressional district (including the cities of Falls Church and Alexandria, all of Arlington County, as well as a portion of Fairfax County) from 1991 to 2015. A member of the Democratic Party, Moran chaired the New Democrat Coalition from 1997 to 2001. He is of Irish descent and is the son of professional football player James Moran Sr. and the brother of former Democratic Party of Virginia Chairman Brian Moran. He worked for five years at the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare as a budget officer before serving as a senior specialist for budgetary and fiscal policy at the Library of Congress. From 1976 to 1979, he was on the staff of U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations. In 1979, Moran was elected to the Alexandria, Virginia, City Council. He was deputy mayor from 1982. In 1985, Moran was elected mayor of Alexandria. He was re-elected in 1988 and resigned after he was elected to Congress in November 1990.

After a 32-year career in government including serving as a United States Congressman, New York City District Attorney and Deputy Borough President, Dan is now engaged in various roles in the private sector. During his tenure in the House of Representatives Dan served on both the Homeland Security and Foreign Affairs Committees. On the Homeland Committee, Dan Chaired the Emergency Preparedness, Response and Communication subcommittee whose jurisdiction addressed both terrorism and natural disasters. Dan was also a member of Homeland’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection subcommittee. As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Dan served on the Middle East and North Africa subcommittee as well as the subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Human rights and International Organizations. Other roles in which Dan has served in government include Staten Island Deputy Borough President, Chief of Staff to the Richmond County Borough President, and Deputy Bureau Chief for the legendary Manhattan District Attorney, Robert Morgenthau. Dan graduated cum laude from Fordham University School of Law where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review, and received his undergraduate degree from St. John’s University.

Jorge Quiroga, also known as Tuto Quiroga, was President of Bolivia between the years 2001 and 2002. He began his political career at a very young age, and held positions of great responsibility in the government, having been Minister of Finance (1992) and Vice President (1997-2001). Quiroga is an active member of Bolivian politics and is known for his great knowledge and interest in Latin American political currents, which he carefully analyses. Jorge Quiroga began his career in politics in 1993, when he directed the campaign of the conservative Acción Democrática Nacional (ADN) party. He soon held more relevant positions, becoming in 1997 the youngest Vice-President in Bolivia’s history during the government of Hugo Banzer, when he was 37 years old. In 2001 he assumed the position of President to complete until 2002 the mandate that Banzer had begun. Previously, in 1992, he was Minister of Finance under another ADN government. His political concerns led him to form in 2004 the citizen group Poder Democrático y Social PODEMOS, with which he competed in the 2005 elections. In 2014 he ran again as presidential candidate in the elections with the Christian Democratic Party (PDC). Quiroga studied in the United States, where he graduated as an Industrial Engineer from Texas A&M University. He also received an MBA from St. Edward’s University in Austin. Between 1981 and 1988, when he returned to Bolivia, he worked for IBM in Texas.

Steve Israel is a former U.S. Congressman who represented the North Shore of Long Island and parts of Queens for 16 years (2001-2017). He has also served as Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2011 to 2015. In this role, Steve was the chief political strategist and lead architect of House of Representatives campaign strategies. He was responsible for overall development of competitive House campaigns across America. He developed a vast network of local, state, and federal officials throughout the nation, and is considered a leading expert in congressional dynamics. Israel was born in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Nassau Community College and Syracuse University before earning his B.A. at George Washington University in 1982. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Israel served as an aide to Rep. Richard Ottinger of New York until being elected to the Huntington Town Board. Israel previously served as chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Though he represented a well-known swing district, Steve was re-elected six times. After choosing not to seek re-election in 2016, he appears as a regular political commentator on MSNBC and has been renowned as an acclaimed political writer. Steve was appointed director of the new Institute of Politics and Global Affairs at Cornell University, which will serve as a platform to promote understanding of volatile and complex political dynamics in the United States and around the world.

Steven Ernst Stivers born March 24, 1965 is an American businessman and politician who was the U.S. representative for Ohio’s 15th congressional district from 2011 until 2021. He is a member of the Republican Party, and became chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee in 2017. Stivers previously served in the Ohio Senate, representing the 15th district. He is a major general in the Ohio Army National Guard, serving as the Assistant Adjutant General, and served active duty in Iraq as a battalion commander until December 2005. On May 16, 2021, he resigned his seat to become the president and CEO of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. Stivers attended the Ohio State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and international relations in 1989 and an MBA in 1996. Stivers spent seven years at Bank One, three years at the Ohio Company, two years as finance director for the Franklin County Republican Party and five years as a staff member in the Ohio Senate. Stivers worked as a Series 7 licensed securities trader with the Ohio Company.

Esko Aho was a Member of the Finnish Parliament 1983-2003. He chaired the Centre Party 1990-2002 and was Prime Minister of Finland 1991-1995. After his political career, Aho served as President of the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra 2004-2008 and thereafter he served as Executive Vice President for Corporate Relations and Responsibility at Nokia Corporation and was a member of its Executive Board till 2012. Currently, he is Chairman of the Board at China Office of Finnish Industries. He is also a member of the JP Morgan Advisory Council for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Aho is also an advisor to several international and domestic companies and communities. He is an invited member of Club de Madrid, an independent organization of former heads of state and government dedicated to strengthening democracy. Aho has been active in the world of academia. He has been a Resident Fellow and later Senior Fellow at Harvard University and he has served as an Executive in Residence at Aalto University. Aho holds honorary doctorate degrees from the University of Vaasa and the University of Alberta.
