Vahe Hovhannisyan is the Minister of Finance of Armenia, appointed on December 20, 2022. An economist by training (Yerevan State University), he has worked in public finance for years—with roles at the Asian Development Bank, as Deputy Minister of Finance, and as a Prime Minister’s advisor. He has expertise in fiscal policy, public budgeting, and economic reform. Under his leadership, Armenia has embraced AI-driven modernization: his ministry is using AI to enhance tax analytics, auditing, treasury, and procurement. He also spearheaded a vision of Armenia as a high-tech hub, collaborating with global AI players like Nvidia.
