Keith Kupferschmid has served as President and CEO of Copyright Alliance since 2015, overseeing strategy, government affairs, communications, membership, and board relations. Under his leadership, the Alliance played a major role in shaping modern copyright legislation — contributing to enactment of the Music Modernization Act (MMA), the Copyright Alternative in Small-Claims Enforcement Act (CASE Act), and the Protecting Lawful Streaming Act (PLSA). Prior to that, he was General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Intellectual Property at the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) for 16 years, and earlier served in key roles at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Trade Representative, and as counsel at a major IP law firm.
