Joshua A. Geltzer is a partner in the Defense, National Security & Government Contracts Practice at WilmerHale, where he specializes in national security law, emerging technology regulation (including AI), cybersecurity, and government contracting. Previously, he served as Deputy Assistant to the President, Deputy White House Counsel, and Legal Advisor to the National Security Council (NSC), advising on defense, intelligence, foreign relations, counterterrorism, election security, and migration — and helped develop U.S. strategy on domestic violent extremism.
Geltzer holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, a Ph.D. in War Studies from King’s College London, and an AB from Princeton University. His expertise spans constitutional and cyber law, national security policy, government contracts, and the legal/regulatory aspects of emerging technologies.
