Dr. Frederic Werner is the Chief of Strategy and Operations for AI for Good at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), where he also serves as Head of Strategic Engagement.
He co-created the annual AI for Good Global Summit—a flagship UN platform that brings together AI innovators, public-policy makers, and development stakeholders to drive solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
With deep expertise in strategic engagement, digital communications, global collaborations, and organizational design, Werner guides initiatives across membership development, fundraising, business intelligence, and pilot deployment of AI-powered tools to enhance ITU operations.
Under his leadership, AI for Good has become a global hub for socially beneficial AI deployment—shaping standards, promoting inclusive digital development, and steering international efforts to harness AI for health, climate, agriculture, and equitable growth.
